Ollie
G'day guys, I have a quick question about fermenting... Hoping someone can help me out? I put on a Coopers Pale the other week, bottled it 3 weeks ago. I put a couple of bottles in the fridge for a taste on the weekend but only drank one cause I thought it was still a bit fizzy. Will the bottle I did not drink continue to condition in the fridge? If not can I take it out and put it back with the rest of them and will it be OK? Separately - the reason I did not drink it was because the bubbles did not resemble that smoothness of a commercial Coopers. Will this get better with age/time in the bottle? Any input would be appreciated! Thanks, Ollie.
brianc6
from what i have learnt mate if they have been siting in a warm place for over 2 weeks you can move them to a cooler area such as garages and such, Correct me if i am wrong masters [cool]
PB2
It won't get any less fizzy, unless the bottles do not hold pressure.[pinched] From pg10 of the instruction booklet: After 14 days, you may want to try your beer. Storing (conditioning) your beer beyond two weeks and up to at least three months should see the flavour improve, the bubbles reduce in size and the yeast deposit becomes more compact. Note: many people store the beer well beyond 3 mths
Ollie
Cheers guys - Being new to this, all the help I can get is awesome! Lovin this forum too! Paul - what are your thoughts on that bottle I put in the fridge? Will that bottle continue to condition in the fridge and/or will it have any effect on the process if I take it out of the fridge? Slurtis Staggersalot
Ollie, That bottle will be just fine. I'd put it back with the others and forget about it for another 2 weeks or more and try them again. Once the initial carbonation has happened the only things that will really mess up your beer is freezing it and exposing it to direct sunlight.
