Robbo
Your opinions please gentlemen (& ladies), what are the advantages or disadvantages of using malt cans over dried malt extracts?
wilfw
Well the first disadvantages of a can is the weight (liquid malt extract is about 20% water so you don't need as much of it))and the price, cans are always more expensive than dried malt extract. Robbo
Are there any flavour advantages of using liquid over dried. My experience is that I've used Coopers and my LHBS generic LDME both resulting in successful and popular brews. Could these results be bettered using liquid? PB2
Dry Malt keeps better - it's more stable in colour, aroma and flavour.
