BrentW2 Posted September 5, 2010 Share Posted September 5, 2010 Hi all, just put down the above and did an OG which came out at 1034 which seems a bit low, should i be concerned?? In a large pot heated (not boiled) and added the kit and used 1kg of BE2, mixed all together at a low heat (again not boiling) for 5 - 7 min then poured into fermenter and added water up the 23l mark. Temp was about 26 degrees when i took the reading. Will fermenting this around the 18 degree mark be ok? TIA Wiggy Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
PB2 Posted September 5, 2010 Share Posted September 5, 2010 1036 is about what to expect for the OG. So 1034 is not far off, allowing for slight error in reading at the miniscus and being at 26C. It will ferment happily at 18C.[biggrin] Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
