Andris
Hey guys and gals, I'm planning to make a nice stash of beers for next summer, which is about 9 months away from now, and I'm wondering about storage in PET bottles - if I want to keep it "alive" for almost year, should I go for glass bottles or beer will be happy in plastic bottles as well? I don't know why, but I have this uneasy feeling about plastic bottles, beer in them and long time period :D
Muddy Waters
Hi Anris - Your beer will be fine in PET after 9 months. I think Coopers say they are suited for keeping your beer in for up to 18 months (?). I use a mixture of Coopers Glass longnecks, coopers PET bottles & Grolsch swingtops for most batches. I do drink the PET ones first but have never had any issues with long term storage in PET.
