PETERC10
Next easter i will be going on a five day camping trip with a few other familys. we come up with the idea of taking two of my 19l cornys. what would be the best way to take the kegs and keep them cold. Can you keg and gas a homebrew at room temp and leave it at room temp for storage then cool it down with ice for drinking at a later date.
Matty H
You dont need to refridgerate the kegs if you naturally condition them 1/3 of a cup of sugar per keg. Then just chill it in an esky with ice

MatR1
You can chill then gas them and then let them warm up to room temp. You should be gassing chilled anyway. Then chuck them in some ice & use the little C02 bottles to dispense.
PB2
I use 1/3 cup white sugar. We prime with liquid sugar (sucrose) at the brewery, added in-line. Have dispensed kegs quite easily, sitting it then in a bucket of ice - the bottom third is in the ice and the chilled beer is drawn from the bottom. It doesn't have to be dispensed all at once. Being naturally conditioned, it copes with warming and then cooling again, provided head presure is maintained to prevent it going flat.
