VictorD
I have just brought a heat pad and i am going to brew in the garage. Just wondering if anyone has used one before and if so did they use a time and what times did they have the heat pad turn on and off.(winter time in western Sydney)
PB2
Ideally, place the heat pad against the side of the FV or in a cabinet with the FV, not directly underneath it - heating the yeast sediment can produce funky flavours and aromas. I run my timer to switch ON for 15 mins every hour and the FV+ Heat Pad sit in a fridge (acting as an insulated cabinet). This holds the brew at around 18C.
