RobR1
I brewed up a batch of Coopers Mexican last sunday, so it's been fermenting for 1 week so far. I made it up with Beer Enhancer #1, and the SG was around 1040. I've been monitoring the gravity with my hydrometer and it doesn't seem to have changed much from Thursday or so - around 1016, which seems pretty high to me. How do I know if it's done all its going to do or whether there's a problem? - I intend to bottle this (in glass bottles and pet bottles) and I don't want bottle bombs!! AndrewC5
What kind of temps are we looking at over the week?
RobR1
Each time I looked at the thermometer it was around 24 or so. This is in an airing cupboard with the door shut so it should be fairly consistiently this temp.
Slurtis Staggersalot
Get some more PET bottles, just in case [pinched] Plus PET is good for outdoor activities, such as drinking at a friends house or , hiking 20 km into the bush, or playing lawn darts, or disc golf... I need to buy a bunch of PET bottles
RobR1
I'll be using PET thats for sure! - Never bottled one this high before. It seems I may have been reading it wrong, I reckon 1014 is perhaps more accurate. I'll double check its this tomorrow then probably bottle on Wednesday. Looking like it will be quite a weak brew as a result though. I guess that's partly due to using Beer Enhancer #1 I think
PB2
A FG of 1010 - 1014 is about right for BE1.
Slurtis Staggersalot
Sounds like you're going to have a nice hot day beer on your hands! And because you're putting it in PET it is an excellent choice to take to the lake or mow the lawn [cool]
