Kai
I think they still have their own underground aquifer to tap into, as well as something like 16 RO tubes.
BIG D
must be a trade secret still no reply from coopers themselves. hope this site doesnt go like the last one where a question lies unanswered for months on end :( cheers big d
Frank - Coopers Brewery
On the contrary Big D - Kai answered your question. The water is pumped up from one of several aquifers and processed through a reverse osmosis plant before being used in the production of our beer and home brew products. Jazman
theirfore Big d they would have to add stuff to the water maybe gypsum ect for the right ph of the water before mashing the grains
Frank - Coopers Brewery
Sorry Jazman, I neglected to add that both the beer and home brew worts are treated in exactly the same way. That is, the guys in the Brewhouse adjust the mineral content and pH of the mash of a home brew wort in the same way that they do for a beer wort. BIG D
thanks frank is this a regency park aquifer or do you draw from leabrook and transfer to the new place. cheers big d
Frank - Coopers Brewery
The bores are on site here at Regency Park. The Leabrook site was sold to developers when we made the move to Regency. The new brewery is self sufficient in power and water. We have a co-generation gas turbine power plant that supplies electricity and steam to the brewery. About eighty percent of the power from the co-gen plant goes back into the SA grid and the steam is used for heating in the brewhouse.
