I think it might be a geek thing but I tend not to do hobbies by half. 12 months from now I hope to have a temperature controlled three keggle brew system setup and I plan to drill/wire/setup as much as I can myself, complete with pumps. At this stage I'm leaning towards electric (cheaper setup/safer for automation) but I'm not sure. I'd really like to have it sooner, but getting hitched in October and going to Germany to drink all the Hefeweissen in December so it's hard to justify $1000 on improving my brewing :) What fun this hobby is.
