Canadian Eh!L
Hi all, I am looking to clone a pale ale that I like (Sierra Nevada). I'm culturing the yeast now. The problem is i don't have the Cooper's PA here in town. I was wondering what other Cooper's can would be the closest thing to a PA. Thanks, Chad
Greg
You will need to add shed loads of hops to get the hoppyness of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. I would use the Coopers IPA tin, then add 40-60g of Cascade at appropriate intervals. In terms of sugar, perhaps do 50/50, malt/dextrose.
AussieJosh
maybe you can get your hands on the sparkling can? If not maybe some light malt extract or light dry malt? AS far as i know coopers PA only uses a bittering hop? POR "Pride of ring wood" So if you get the un hoped malt you would need to boile the hops up, id start at a 60 min boil, Paul may be able to give you more advice, and on the amount of POR, or you could ask you local home brew store.
