Coxy
So here's an attempt. Planning basically a swill drinker for summer, so figure Mexican Cerveza with the half kg of BE2 I have and about 400g of LDME will fit the criteria nicely. I rinsed and harvested the Saflager yeast I used in my European Lager that I bottled today, and have a starter going. Will see if it works. If it looks promising, I'll pitch that instead of the kit yeast and ferment at 12 degrees. Was thinking of dry hopping with a bit of Cluster hops to give it that XXXX Summer type smell. GrahamB8
Simple recipe should be a great swiller, good luck with the yeast baby
Coxy
Ta. I figure a cheap recipe means if the yeast doesn't work properly it's no great loss. But I'm confident it will work.
Coxy
18 hours since pitching yeast I rinsed from my European Lager batch and it's bubbling away nicely in the fridge [biggrin] nice healthy looking krausen on it. I'm happy. It's the first time I've rinsed yeast and first time I've done a starter and pitched that. Hopefully it continues along nicely.
