ChrisMack
Opened up the stout that was put down in May tonight, and I've gotta say Im rather impressed..... Cant do the "finer definition" but it's definately drinkable...even as we head into summer (I dunno always pictured Stouts as a supping winter drink) The trick....I added a fair whack of cinnamon in the brewing process.....the result is stangely a stout that has a slight fruity/cakey aroma (almost reminds me of a christmas cake) as you would expect there is the full bodied stout taste - that is seemingly slightly mellowed by the addition of the cinnamon, in some ways almost adding a slight sweetness.... I was quite surprised that the cinnamon has had such a "wide" effect on the final outcome....it's so nice I've just polished off 2x750ml bottles in the first tasting..... Now...if I could just find the recipe that I used - I logged it on my PC but have had a few issues in the last while and cant find it...
