JohnV3
Has anybody tried mixing yeasts...e.g. a wheat & ale yeasts for a ale recipe, or wheat and ale yeasts for a wheat recipe....or for a lager recipe....I am interested to know what people thought of the results. Kearnage
Coopers mix yeasts for many of their home brew kits (Ale and lager). Seems to work pretty well [biggrin]
DaleB
Coopers do mix them, however I would always try and stick with the correct yeast for your brew, with some exceptions Im brewing a Cervesa atm, but ive used an Ale yeast for a crystal clear and pure beer. US-05 However, since my first brew, I always purchase separate yeast, as I find the coppers yeast is sometime not kept at the right temps, and it just doesnt taste as good, ( no fault to coopers), I like using s-04 or US-05. JohnV3
Thanks... I've had many good American wheats and they tend to use American Ale Yeast. I'm simply thinking that if you were to use say hald ale and half wheat, you would benfit by getting attributes from both yeasts....
