markc12
greetings i have a batch of wheet beer in mid primary fermentation what im wondering is how can i get the beer out to test final gravity without letting air in? do i just pour some into my vessel to test it from the tap or do i need to take the air lock off the top first? i brewed my first batch without actually testing final gravity and got away with it but i dont want to take a chance doing the same thing with my precious wheet beer many thanks mark[unsure]
Kearnage
Mark, You can temporarily loosen or remove the airlock (to prevent the water being sucked in) and take a sample from the tap. Discard the first little bit as it may have yeast trub or undissolved solids in the tap recess. It won't hurt the brew! Dan
