josho1525228560
Hey all i am currently brewing the devils half ruby porter and got me thinking when you are bottling could you add say jack daniels to it or a whiskey essence to give it some extra flavor and a bit of bite? Cheers
IsaacBeers
How much were you going to add? Safe way to do it would be to wait until the batch is ready to drink, then experiment adding the whiskey to your glass of beer after pouring to see what it'd taste like, and gauge how much you want to add. I'm not sure what you'd gain from adding it before bottling versus mixing it when serving, other than convenience? I've never tried a beer with other booze added to it, though given whiskey is pretty much barrel-aged distilled beer I'm sure it can't be that bad! ChristinaS1
Hi josho. Yes, of course you can. I would stick to real booze though, and not use whiskey "essence." Add it after fermentation is over. It can be a way to increase your ABV. Cheers! -Christina.
