STEAMBUFF
HAS ANYONE EXPERIENCED LEAKING PROBLEMS AT THE SPIGGOT WHERE THE TAP PUSHES INTO THE FERMENTER, ESPECIALLY WHEN FILLING USING A BOTTLE WAND. I WAS WONDERING COULD I USE PLUMBERS TAPE TO MAKE A CLOSER SEAL.
headmaster
I have noticed a few drips squeeze out around the press in seal, if you push on the tap. Nothing drastic however. You can smear a tiny bit of olive oil on the rubber seal to improve the situation. Otherwise yeah I guess you could try some plumbers teflon tape. Probably best to test that with water before pouring wort in to it however. And make sure the teflon tape is stable before trusting it. If it shifts with time, the leak might be a lot worse that otherwise. Check seal integrity as well, maybe there's a nick out of yours, in which case you probably need a new one. Bird1986
I noticed it was leaking a little when I was bottling for the first time but nothing to worry about. I just used a tea towel under the tap when I was bottling and a bucket on the ground.
