I certainly can't argue with you Paul given my minimal experience, and I was only going by the references in that book. However, seeing you baited me and I bit innocent, I still reckon you owe me a box of Panadeine Forte. rolleyeslol

I was at a mates place the other day and his neighbour came over with some beer that he made.

It was a coopers and he adds brown sugar and swears by it. He said he made one with dextrose but did not like it as it was to foamy when he poured it.

That could of been to much carbonation in. Yes/No?

By the way, why dose the time say that it is 10:30am when it is 9:40pm?

Hi fellers,

I finally got to finish the job!! This is what I did:

Can of Coopers draught

1kg of liquid malt extract (ordinary stuff from the supermarket)

200g of Dextrose

teaspoon sugar in bottles at bottling

Had the mandatory 14 days fermenting in the bots while I eagerly waited the outcome!!

Well, tossed a dozen in the fridge last night and cracked one this morning.

Used a glass to see what it looked like (sediment, colour)

Top twisted off with the expected shh

Poured beautifully with a good creamy head

Colour was slightly darker than say a normal beer.....slightly!

Bubbles from the bottom all the way through

Ahhhh, now the taste test.........................

Hmmm, a little bitter on the first taste I thought.....It is early Sunday morning so expect any beer to have that taste at first

Second taste....better

Third taste...hey this is bloody good stuff!!

Second bottle.......very pleased with my first attempt and can't see any need to change it

Therd botel..no probs

Forth bottl, bugger where did I leev me smokes

Fif won, coodnt cair less wher me fags ar
