bert
Hi , I went to my local brew shop today for some malt for a tin of coopers English bitter that I have and planned on getting it in my fermenter today. Anyway when I got to the shop they had no light or amber dried malt in stock only dark malt which I purchased anyway for some stout , My question is would this dark malt go with the bitter , anyone tried it? or have a opinion about using this instead of a lighter malt which would be the norm for this brew. JohnE9
Bert, Don't worry about it; just use it. I reckon it would go well with the EB tin.

bert
pitched yeast at 5pm 22 degrees, I had a look at 9.30pm, and the yeast was starting to do its thing already, I couldn't believe it , so I got up for a piss at 1.30am [as you do] And had a look in the f v while I was up and there was a layer of foam all over the surface already, By this morning a perfect head on the wort, And smells lovely , Ive never seen this happen so quick? The tin was orderd direct from coopers and arrived the day before so it must be a fresh batch .
