Purdij1525228982
Gday all, With your collective, guiding hand, I'm getting the hang of this (sounds like a fall is imminent). So far done: 1) Lager from the DIY kit - drinking - 6/10 2) Coopers Stout + DLM + 500g brewing sugar (to 20l) - tasted - 9/10 (very much like my VERY favourite drop - Coopers Best Extra Stout) 3) Coopers Pale Ale (with 15g of finishing hops added) - in bottle for a week. 4) Stout + 1kg (dark malt/corn syrup/lactose) - still in FV (and thinking about adding some coffee extract) What I'd like next is a nice lager or was thinking the original recipe dark ale. Would love something maltie like Redback or more in the style of premium commercial lagers. What's the Thomas Coopers Heritage Lager like? All suggestions greatly appreciated. Scottie
Hey Purdij You could always have a crack at the Coopers Oktoberfest recipe, which is based on the Euro Lager kit. This was my first Lager and everyone loved it. Its only a Mid strength but I boosted mine with 200g of Dextrose. I brewed it at 12 degrees, racked it to a jerry can (HDPE) and Lagered it in the brew fridge for 9 weeks although 4 weeks would be sufficient. Purdij1525228982
OK Scottie - maybe I should have been more specific. Let's talk about what I can do with the equipment that came out of the DIY kit. What's this jerrycan of which you speak? :)
