Just gonna try making a hop tea with them, then DryHop for afew days after fermentation is complete with a single teabag.... Sounds good but it'll be even better if you make it using Dr Smurto's Golden Ale recipe (Of course then you will need a boil): 1 can Thomas Coopers Sparkling Ale 1 can Coopers Wheat Malt 250g Caramalt (or other light crystal) 15g Amarillo @ 15, 5 and dry hop. Excuse my naivete, but this would be my first foray into the grain/extract type of thing... VERY keen though.. Just got back from KMart with FV #2 so keen to get a couple of batches down tomorrow.... Muddy Waters Posted July 29, 2011 Share Posted July 29, 2011 No don't boil the grain just steep it in water no warmer than 70C for about 30 mins and put the resulting "tea" in your boil. tonyw9 Posted July 30, 2011 Author Share Posted July 30, 2011 Hey Muddy, I just put this one down Sans-Grain, so thats just the LME (WHEAT), TC Sparkling Ale, the Amarillo (made my own teabags -CHEAPER much!! and fresh!)and the US05.... Smells great and Hydro sample tasted good... Bitter, but good... :) I CANNOT wait to drink this one, Gonna be a cracker I reckon..... In my new 2nd Ferm, I just brewed the Lager tin, the BE1 and 500g Light Dry Malt, then pitched the Yeast from the TC Sparkling Ale kit and added a 20g Amarillo Teabag into the mix.... When you boil hops you can just put them loosw in the pot and strain them with a basic kitchen sieve at the end. For dry hopping you can wrap them in a chux wipe (fresh from the packet), a stocking, a stock bag or something along these lines - Just make sure you give the hops plenty of room to swell. Alternatively you can just chuck the hops in loose - They'll (usually) settle out in the fermentor. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Do you reckon the yeast that came with the TC sparkling ale will give a much different result to the bog-standard tin yeast? The Coopers OS Lager comes with a Cooper Ale Strain whereas the Sparkling Ale is a Cooper Ale Strain/Lager combo so they will be slighlty different.
