timski_
Hi all, I am fairly new to the home brew caper and after my first successful brew I want to move onto making a Pale Ale. Does anyone have any hints or tips they can share? At the moment I just have the stock standard Pale Ale can and Brew Enhancer 2. Anything else I should add? NewtownClown
Good start! My mate's GF did exactly that for her first brew and it is a fine beer. Start with a simple recipe, enjoy it and think how you would change it to suit YOU. E.g. more/less body, more malt aroma, more hop bitterness/flavour/aroma, sweeter/dryer etc... Don't tweak it just yet... You can use that as a base to experiment with different hops and specialty grains. You will notice the different characteristics each impart to a known finished product. (Even better if you can do half batches)
NewtownClown
Forgot to advise you to keep the ferment temp low (18-21C) if possible. Enjoy your new hobby ( religion [innocent] )
Greg
Add 30g of Cascade @ 5 mins for a nice drop.
