AndyB
Hi Folks I recently tasted a good tequila beer called desperados any suggestions on a recipe of similar nature? Anyone that hasn\u2019t tasted it, it\u2019s a Mexican style lager with a hint of tequila and lime... Thinking on using the Mexican Cervesa as a base but not really sure on how to add the lime or to use tequila or tequila essence.....Any suggestions??? PB2
A recipe like this can be done easily - do you keg your beer?

PB2
Bottling could work. I'm guessing the beer simply has a shot of tequila and a squeeze of lime added?? The addition might not work so well prior to secondary fermentation as the yeast may not cope with the higher alcohol content. Fill your bottles to about 25ml short of the normal fill level, prime and secondary ferment as normal. Once they are conditioned sufficiently, chill them down, add the tequila and lime juice, then cap immediately. Try it with only a couple of bottles and taste the result - you may want to increase or decrease additions to suit.
