kieran
Hi all, Has anyone noticed, that if they quote a previous post, that the quote says: "c12345 says:" instead of "Fred Nurke says:" at the top of the quotes? Is there any way to fix this, as its a hell of a lot easier to work out Oliver, Luke, Kai, Paul - Coopers Brewery, Frank Akers, Tassie Brewer, Nessy etcetcetc than c12345, c23495, c66543, c87403

Oliver
Paul, While you're there, would you ask the geeks why when you are replying to a post the thread of previous messages also simply has the membership number, not name, like most phpbb installations I've seen. Perhaps the php templates have not been updated properly ... Cheers, Oliver

Oliver
Hi Paul, Another thought ... Given that so many people don't have a name set up as an alias and this seems to cause much grief due to apparently anonymous postings, why don't you get your boffins to either: (a) Set things up so that the default name is the membership number (for instance, mine would be c4162). Isn't this how it used to be? Users could then change it if they wanted to. OR (b) Force users to enter a meaningful username the first time they log on. This seems like the preferable option to me. Cheers, Oliver
