Bek Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 Hey everybody - i'm new here- but thank god there are other people who have taste buds!!!!! Does anybody know if you can get C extra stout on tap in sydney? Thanks Bek
Oliver Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Rumour has it that Coopers Pale Ale will be dropped from the Gunn Island (in Middle Park, Melbourne) for the Commonwealth Games and Grand Prix for -- wait for it -- Crown Lager. What an insult.
Bek Posted March 13, 2006 Author Posted March 13, 2006 I dont understand why the majority of people who drink beer ovbiously have no taste buds. I have about 3 places near me where i can get coopers red and pale ale on tap - it would be good if some how we could get a list of where coopers is on tap. Bek
Greg B Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 A pub that drops Pale in favour of Crown? Boycott them. Cheers, Greg
Oliver Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Bek, There's a fairly extensive list at www.cooperspubs.com Cheers, Oliver
kieran Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Reports from a reliable source say that on a tour through the CUB brewery in Melbourne, an interesting observation was been made. That is, the Crown Lager and VB beer lines both originate from the same fermenter vats. The conditioning tanks were different though. We all know that only a certain range of flavours can be exhumed from two identical brews. Maybe that's why VB and Crown don't taste all that different? Maybe some marketting genius at Fosters decided to rebadge VB kegs as Crownie kegs!? Furthermore, drums of hop essence (syntesised or not, we dont know - but they were clearly not fresh) were used in the wort. Sources additionally suspect that this could lead to the generally flavourous megaswill that comes from this brewer. That's the Underground Brew Reporter signing off, back to Oliver at the newsdesk.
Philby Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 I actually heard a rumour that suggested Crown Lager and VB were being sold as beer. Is there any truth to this rumour??
kieran Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 Shockingly so. I've even seen Crown Lager on tap in a certain pub in the Adelaide Central market, neighboring a Coopers PA tap. Coming home from melbourne, it was a complete no-brainer which of the two tap-buddies was the easiest of choices. "A ____ __ _______ ____ ___ please bartender!" A special prize to the person who can fill in the blanks!
