GregT5
A mate suggested I try a brew using the spice, cardamom. I put down the following: OS Lager tin 1kg LDM 20g Cardamom pods & seeds, crushed & steeped for 30 mins I was looking at a fairly bland beer to see what the cardamom would bring to the brew, instead of hops. When I bottled it the flavour & aroma were very faint, almost non-existent. After 5 weeks in the bottle we tried one today watching the footy. I must say the flavour & aroma have improved since bottling & it is a very nice, tasty beer. The cardamom gives it an almost sweet, spicy flavour & the aroma is very spicy also. I certainly wouldn't make it a regular beer in my stocks, it is a good beer to have when you still want a beer but are looking for something different. I love Cardomom in tea
GregT5
It's an interesting flavour - almost (very subtle) lemon like. It might even work in something like a weizen.
