AdamS12
I used my Vinator to sterilise some PET Bottles with starsan. I used a mixture of starsan and spring water then i disassembled the vinator and risned with tap water and i let it dry. Now there is some white residue on the disc that fixes to the bowl. Should i be worried about the residue? If so how do i clean the residue? Thanks
guest1525228310
I have never bothered cleaning mine. When finished the Starsan goes back in the bottle for next time and the vinator just dries itself. Recommend go to one of those Reverse Osmosis (RO WATER) machines and keep a bottle of RO water on hand for mixing your starsan. It is not about saving money just means you rarely have to mix the stuff as it stays nice and clear. What ever the white stuff is I am sure Starsan will put it to death next time you use it. Dave from Kiwiland
It sounds like the white residue is just dried starsan. I use starsan to sterilize all my equipment and the residue is what remains when it dries, and is more noticeable on the bottles being so transparent. Waxey Gordon
what concentration did you make your starsan at? I rinse my vinator off, cos the instructions say to My bottle of Starsan recommends 1 once to 5 gallons which by my ordinary maths equals 1.5ml to 1 litre. Which means my little bottle of Starsan should give me several standard Olympic sized pools of cleaning product.[cool]
