about ourselves

Recommended Posts

This thread will either be a lot of fun or a complete waste of my time typing, but here goes.....

A few weeks ago i used Captain yobbos signature pic of the trailer park boys to make a tongue in cheek list of who on the forum might have resembled the 5 TPB.

A few eyebrows were raised (soz Lusty), but it was a bit of fun at the time.

How about we post a recent photo and some general info, maybe even first names (Jesse has recently "come out", hey Yob)

We all know about each others brewing prowess, or lack of in my case, but we probably know not much else. I am not on Facebook, but i guess a few of you know each other via that.

How about a recent photo, first name, occupation and something interesting about us.

Some of this info is on our profiles, but who looks at that??

Keep it short and sweet, be honest about occupations, if you claim to be a Pornstar, we want a list of movies so we know your not lying, and if you have a head like a dropped pie, dont put up a pic of Brad Pitt.

Nick.

ok Nick you asked for it. first off i will not post a pic of myself on here or anywhere on the net...but ill tell yas abit about myself....ive been a lets say bit of a "wild boy" for most my life, have spent many years on government holidays from time to time, have been a heavy drinker for most of my life but the most enjoyable time of my life has been the last 10 or so years since i began to opal mine and make rugged beer lol

i have a handful of really great mates(old guys) about late 60's and 70's who have been rough as guts brewers for over 35 years or so. i hold these men in much high regard, probably some of the toughest blokes ive ever met considering i spent nearly 60 years trying to be "tough" myself lol(failing miserably). recently i was told im abit crooker than i thought i was, i moved here to ulladulla (gods country)and began brewing again. i found this site and decided id start making better beer ( hasnt been hard seeing the swill i made for 8 years). im very pleased (rapt in fact) with most the people in here, have appreciated the input, the fun, and this site has kept my mind off other stuff.....mind you the fact im easily lead now means i own a bloody fridge and am ordering a stc1000 (thanks to nick)im now asking the LHBS guy about hops crystal etc(thanks to Yob)....im sounding like a meth-amphetamine dealer when i go to local brew shop now lol

so all in all im very happy to be here on this site...the better news is im gunna run out of time before i make all the brews i want to lol, cheers..............ya still not getting a photo, might be one on a post office wall somewhere if ya that desperate lol, so all in all i aint gunna change my drinking habits except to make better stuff and i really dont feel the need to toughen up much nor do gruff words scare me much...all in all i se it how it is i reckon. im happy to have a beer with any of you who may venture into Ulladulla anytime....all welcome, cheers ned....p.s maybe there is a god otherwise weyd all drink at the same hotel lol...now THATS SCARY lol. cheers Ned. p.p.s your right Nick this thread is gunna be fun.

Scottie, that's my real name.

48 years old.

I live in Tassie so clearly I work in the Timber Industry (Softwood) I've woked as a Tradesman, an Electrical Engineer and until last week as a Shift Manager.

I love music, Southern Rock, Blues, Country (not Keith Urban) and even good quality hard rock (Led Zepplin, Deep Purple, Metallica).

My favorite actress is Nicole Kidman.

Here's a pic of me (dressed as Alice Cooper) with Woody from toy story

Somehow I've managed to stay married for 27 years.

Love it Scottie, how good is our Nicole??? BMX Bandits was by far her best work and she thoroughly deserves her golden globes.

At first i thought you were at madam tausauds, then i saw the paparazzi. Somehow i think that this is not the first time you've shown that photo.

Cheers Scottie.

BTW, my old man is still raving about your stella IPA. he's an old pommy who hates gassy cold megaswill. reckons its the best drop he's had outside England.

PS, 2 tallies put him on his arse

Hot enough for ya??? 43 here right now

Lynton here; brand new to the forum.

AKA: Max, Mad Max, Mack, Macka but my friends call me Shitfa

Been poking about checking out recipes, the label maker and such and stumbled into this pit of filth and thought it suited me just fine.

40 years old. Living in Adelaide but working all over the place.

Married for at least 15 years (not exactly sure, feels longer) and have 3 kids.

The old man told me that to get a job doing the work nobody else wants to do but has to have - plumbing, garbo, etc.

I manage databases and IT stuff in Mining and Exploration doing the work the drillers, drivers, fieldies and other crew don't want to do. It means I travel a lot so my brew stocks are always up and down.

The wife and tin lids bought me a second fermenter for Xmas so I can do 2 brews at a time when I'm home. I have an older style Coopers kit I picked up for $20 at a market - still in wrapping with it's original VHS tape. Now I've got the new kit as well with the Krasen collar.

So, a new lease on brewing life! Time to get serious!

After Xmas I was completely out. Now I have 60 longnecks bottled (Lager and Dark Ale) and a stout in the barrel. Given the heat I've got the fermenter sitting in the laundry trough full of water - 26C. Bloody heat wave...
