c37245
I have just put down a bitter beer but temp overnight has dropped down to below 20. What effect will/might this have on final product?
Oliver
How far below 20? The yeast should be fine down to 18, or even a bit lower. Of course, it will take longer to ferment than usual at lower temperatures. Try wrapping the fermenter firmly in a blanket or doona to keep the heat in that's generated by the yeast during fermentation.

c37632
I have the same problem over winter and have made a "blanket" out of one of those sun sheilds that you but behind the windscreen to reflect the sun out of the car when parked by cutting to shape and taping the ends together for a snug fit I cut out a slot where the thermometer is stuck on and with this and a heater belt on a timer found i have pretty good control of the brewing temp.
