ozdevil Posted November 30 Share Posted November 30 1975 Tooheys old beer recipe By Peter Symons Recipe Specifics Batch size(l) = 22 Anticipate O.G = 1041 Plato 10.20 Anticipate F.G = 1.006 Anticipate EBC = 51 with Caramel Anticipate IBU = 14 Alcohol = 4.6%abv Grain / Extract / Sugar 2.01KG Voyager Pale Schooner 670g No. 1 invert Sugar 640g Raw Barley 220g Castle wheat 10 g Bairds roasted Barley 0.77 G/l Caremal Colour Mash Shedule Single infusion Mash at 65°c for 90 minutes then mash out @ 77°c (20minute) Boil 70 minutes - sugar at 15 minutes and Whirfloc 5 minutes before end of Boil Hops 10.0 g Au Pride of Ringwood 70 minutes at boil Yeast White labs Wlp007 Dry English Ale yeast Fermentation Pitch at 20°C let rise to 22°c and maintain until ternimal gravity achieved carbonate the beer at 2-2.5 volumes NOTE: you can change the Voyager pale schooner out for Marris Otter Wheat malt was substituted for Manildra Flour The old was fermented for 6 days and then cold stored for 10 days, then filitered and packaged. Just covert the base male which voyager pale schooner. To dme or lme Use the interpersonal to help you convert the base male to extract. The other ingredients. Jeg wheat malt and Barley. My AG version turned out very nice and an old timer mate reckoned it was as good as the real deal. Its on my to do again brew list so maybe at the end of summer will drop another batch in the FV for drinking during the cooler months next year. And my first taste test and pic here.
