Zumerle
Fiz minha primeira cerveja kit coopers. Dark ale 23l e uma lata extrato coopers light + fermento s04. A variação de 20 graus por 07 dias. E inicial 1030 e fg 1010. Fiz teste primming em algumas garrafas e apresentou sabores de sidra, maçã verde. Gostaria da ajuda de vocês, no sentido do motivo do off e o que fazer para evitar futuramente.

I would like your help, in the sense of the reason for the off and what to do to avoid it in the future. It probably could have done with a Coopers 1kg of BE3 which contains mainly malt to beef it up a bit & I would be leaving it for a few more days as it may not be fully fermented. Your SG of 1.030 sounds too low. Coopers Brew Enhancer 3 contains a high proportion of Light Dry Malt combined with dextrose and maltodextrin. The substantial quantity of Pale malt, maximises the malt character of your favourite brew whilst the dextrose and maltodextrin improve the mouthfeel and body, delivering a creamy head and avoiding any residual cidery flavours. The ultimate enhancer for all beer styles where a fuller flavour is desired. Edited November 24 by Classic Brewing Co

Zumerle
Aqui no Brasil, o importador não trouxe brew enhancer para venda. Sugestão do importador é usar 1 kg açúcar. Eu preferi usar uma lata malte light. A og inicial foi 1030 porque eu acabei colocando um pouco água além limite. Eu matarei o restante da cerveja a 3 graus e hoje engarrafei por primming. Agradeço qualquer ajuda.
Zumerle
I made the first dark ale coopers beer 23 liters. I also used a can of unhopped light malt. The yeast was s04 of fermentis. the OG was 1030 because I added one liter above what was required in the recipe. The fermentation was completed in 7 days, with the FG at 1010. I bottled 3 liters for testing and did the priming. After 6 days, when tasting, I felt a malty, roasted and dry flavor at the end. The problem is that there is an off flavor cider or green apple flavor. the rest of the beer, I lowered the refrigerator temperature to 03 degrees for 04 days and did the priming and will wait. The question is: what could have happened in the process for this cider flavor? thanks.
Back Brewing
@Zumerle welcome to the forum your can of dark ale and light malt should have given you a OG reading of approximately 1.043 you said 1.030 this could be because you had a lot of undissolved extract or you could have read the OG wrong. I am thinking this is the case as those 2 cans will have a final gravity of approx 1.010 and 4.2% ABV If your cleaning and sanitising process are good the beer should have come out fine the cider and green apple flavours you are getting are signs of infection. Estou pensando que esse é o caso, pois essas 2 latas terão uma gravidade final de aproximadamente 1,010 e 4,2% ABV Se o seu processo de limpeza e higienização for bom, a cerveja deve sair boa, mas os sabores de cidra e maçã verde que você está sentindo são sinais de infecção. thanks so much for giving me feedback. Sterilising and sanitising your equipment as this is the most important thing in home brewing you can make a mistake in ingredients BUT you can't make a mistake in cleanliness. I suggest before your next brew completely soak your fermenter and brewing utensils in a solution of sodium percarbante or bleach rinse thoroughly and get yourself some Star San or Stella San whatever is available where you are for sanitising. Hey I could be wrong but others might want to chime in with their thoughts. Edited November 25 by Back Brewing 1
