Log Cabin Breweries is ramping up production to two full time fermenting vessels!..[sideways] [tongue] [alien]

 

The sad part of the story is the 2nd FV is only 25L.[annoyed] I've heard talk about starting the brew at a lower volume until the krausen dies back. What is a recommended volume?

I've been known to brew at a lower volume (about 3-5L less) but that is only for volcanic stouts. Most of my beers are done to full volume in a 25L fermentor and the krausen rarely, if ever gets close to the top.

When I say 25L I mean right to the brim. This would only give 2L of head space. Is this ok?

It sounds a little tight but I guess I'd only have 2-3L headspace - can you post a pic?
