beer brewers bare brunt of Dan Murphys price rises

Hey all i have only just skimmed this article

but endeaver group that has  Uncle Dans and BWS and several hotels in Australia   are subjecting price hikes to the brewers

"“To offset the additional handling costs associated with using the NDC such as cross-docking costs, single pick cost and line haul costs, we will be introducing a new charge of $1.89 per carton in the NDC.”

Its not going to leave brewers much choice but to lift the cost on beer to cover this stupid tax on them  specially the little brewers  and what this is going to cost them

sounds like how woolies control the market between the farm gate and plate, same tactics with most middlemen including meat brokers etc. You can buy direct from the brewery of course, but at the end of the day if you get a contract with the corporate behemoths it will guarantee your business. Unfortunately they know this and will skim more and more cream off the top.
