Doesn't that equate to it being a different beer?

exactly right good old Aussie Lager swill not a whole lot of difference.

yeah if anything they are just only now being honest. As with abbot's lager and KB they brought it back claiming was the original recepie. With all the buyouts they now use different yeast strains, don't quote me but highly unlikely they used the original almost extinct strains for a comeback in small quantities.
