Strong malty flavour and danky hop taste. Moderate to high bitterness. The colour and clarity belie the robustness of this beer. 8/10 I have had that Shamus, it's not bad, clear for an IPA though. Merry Xmas.

Sorry it did not do it for you. Yeah - I was pretty excited to try it from the can. Missed the mark a bit for me though. In saying that, I ended up coming down crook the next day - taste and perception may have been affected. I shouldn't judge too harshly. Haven't been able to have a beer since. The calendar is on a short hiatus.
Shamus O'Sean
Beer Cartel - 24th December - Boat Rocker - Wee Heavy Toffee and caramel aroma Nicely balanced brew I was expecting a cloyingly sweet concoction However, it has a nice dryness to it (kind of cracker-like) and good bitterness There is toffee and caramel in the background, but it creeps forward as the beer warms up in the glass One of my faves of the calendar 8.5/10

Shamus O'Sean
Beer Cartel - 25th December - Hawkers Beer - Bermuda Love Triangle - Rum-Barrel Aged Imperial Dark & Stormy Stout The can says: The spicy chemistry between the throuple of rum, ginger and lime is one of the world's unparalleled trios. Built on the unwieldy foundation of a 13.7% rum-barrel aged imperial stout, this Dark & Stormy inspired beer is both bright and tropical while simultaneously broody and mysterious. Try not to get lost. Shamus says: Bold rum and ginger aroma Kaleidoscope of rich flavours Rum flavour with the heat of ginger and alcohol It is hard to pick the lime, but you would notice it if it was not there Sits somewhere between a good red wine and a port As usual Beer Cartel finish off on a winner 10/10 Consumed with lunch on a typical 30°C Aussie Christmas Day Merry Christmas to all on the Forum

Yuley
A great calendar this time around. Was my first with Beer Cartel, a great variety and generally different beers. Had previously gone with other canvent calendars - but will be going back to Beer Cartel next year! Definitely couldn't drink enough to keep up with the one per day (especially across the silly season with work) - so now got a full fridge of some intriguing beers!
Popo the Reprobate
Still a couple sitting in the fridge that I have not got around to. Can't remember what day this one was for Maybe 23rd? Atomic - Mando Sour Think mandarin-y Fanta beer and you'd be pretty close. Not bad. That thought : "Ah, yeah. I see what they are doing. That's kinda cool", but one was enough. 4
Popo the Reprobate
Last one. Dainton - Short and Sweet Gingerbread Cookie Stout. A bit too much ginger for me. Tasted a little medicinal or something. Dial that back a bit and it would be a great special occasion stout. Heavy on the ginger, got a bit of the ginger bready taste and the stout came through, too. 1 1
