Popo the Reprobate
Boozebud Day 10 - Hawkers - Stout Nice stout. Coffee and chocolate coming through. Not super heavy.
Shamus O'Sean
Beer Cartel - 11th December - Jetty Road Brewery - Mango Session IPA Orange and Mango aromas Bold IPA bitterness. Some fruitiness, but not "juicy" It is hard to get passed the bitterness to appreciate the beer Maybe too bitter Although, as the beer warmed up a bit in the glass, it became more balanced and tasted much better 6.5/10
Shamus O'Sean
Beer Cartel 12th December - Yulli's Brews - Special Batch - Dusseldorf Altbier Mild chocolate aroma plus a hint of roastiness Nice refreshing bitterness Solid malty flavour with underlying roastiness and chocolate like the aromas Nice sharp body. Seems like a multi-purpose beer - Good for either warm or hot weather
Popo the Reprobate
Boozebud Day 11 - Batch Brewing Co - West Coast IPA A nice, firm bitterness. Tropical-ish hops. I'd drink more of these. Edited December 13, 2022 by Popo the Degenerate
Popo the Reprobate
Boozebud Day 12 - 4 Pines - Hazy Pale Ale On first taste, I was initially a bit disappointed but changed my mind. A really balanced beer. Everything was just right. Great hazy beer.
Popo the Reprobate
Boozebud Day 13 - Brewdog - Dead Pony Club Nice enough. Like a light pale ale body wise. Citrusy. Piney. Ok for a mid strength option.

Shamus O'Sean
Beer Cartel - 15th December - Two Birds Brewing - Equalitea Tropical XPA with Orange Blossom Tea Definitely tea-like qualities on opening the can Citrus aromas Zingy orange rind flavour elevates the mild bitterness Plenty of body and flavour 7/10
Popo the Reprobate
Boozebud Day 14 - Vale - Tropic Ale Nice beer. Nothing in your face but pretty drinkable. Slight mango, peach, maybe passionfruit. Could drink a few happily.
Shamus O'Sean
Beer Cartel - 16th December - Fixation Brewing - Yippee Ki-Yay MF - West Coast IPA Strong citrus and tropical aromas. Very well balanced beer. No alcohol note for its 7%. Malty flavour with some fruitiness. The strong aroma amps up the flavour. 9/10 5
Shamus O'Sean
Beer Cartel - 17th December - Garage Project - Fool Me Again - Hazy IPA Mango aromas. Flavour is orange peel and pronounced bitterness with mango in the background. For the bold flavours, it is very smooth to drink. 9/10
Shamus O'Sean
Beer Cartel - 18th December - Sunday Road - Jingle Down the Rabbit Hole - Black Cold IPA Pine aroma with a tiny hint of chocolate The flavour is similar, almost Jaffa-like Bitterness is a bit too big and it lingers I am confused by this beer Tastes okay, but not great for me 6/10
Shamus O'Sean
Beer Cartel - 19th December - Nomad Brewing Co - Christmas in Oktober - Oktoberfest Marzen Smells like a tasty beer should Tastes like a tasty beer should Quite a bit richer than any mega-swill Fairly bitter, but that matches the flavour I like it 8/10
Shamus O'Sean
Beer Cartel - 20th December - New England Brewing Co - Belgian Style Brown Ale I love the chocolate aroma of a Brown Ale. Rich and complex but restrained flavours. There is a slight alcohol note, but it subsides after a few sips. Not my favourite, but far from bad. 7.5/10
Popo the Reprobate
Fell a bit behind posting. May have these out of order. Boozebud Day 15 - Akasha - Hopsmith IPA Amarillo, Simcoe and Centennial IPA. Exactly as you would expect. Nice West Coast IPA.
Popo the Reprobate
Boozebud Day 16 - Stockade Brew Co - Splicer XPA Massive grapefruit! Really bright and vibrant with lots of grapefruit flavour. Probably wouldn't have more than one in a session - but a cool beer to mix it up.
Popo the Reprobate
Boozebud Day 17 - New Belgium Brewing - Hazy India Pale Ale Really bright hoppy flavours. Something about this really stood out from your standard hazy. I've read varying opinions on this one but I liked it.
Popo the Reprobate
Boozebud Day 18 - Hawke's Brewing Co - Hawke's Lager Can says "subtle citrus aroma, light bitterness and a gentle dry finish". Was about right.
Popo the Reprobate
Boozebud Day 19 - Bad Shepherd Brewing Co - Hazelnut Brown I like brown ales. One of my favourite styles and this one was good. Didn't scream hazelnut like I thought it would but it was there. Would be interesting to do a side by side with and without the hazelnut.
Popo the Reprobate
Boozebud Day 20 - Moon Dog - Orange Zap - Orange Sherbet Ale This one is a bit of a miss for me. It is orange-y and kinda sherbet-y but not that great. It's 5.8% and it tastes like a strong beer. I reckon it would have been more enjoyable a couple of % lower. I didn't finish the can and I'm usually up for something a bit different. You would never drink again if you were hungover on this stuff.
Shamus O'Sean
Beer Cartel - 21st December - Hop Nation - Pura Vida - Pineapple & Pink Guava Sour It is a beauty. Lots of pineapple aroma with the aroma most sours have. Lovely creamy mouthfeel and flavour. Plenty of pineapple flavour too, and a taste I recall from the fruit from dad’s guava bush. Plus a really nice sour finish. 8.5/10 @Popo the Degenerate, that Orange Sherbet Ale sounds intriguing. Sorry it did not do it for you.
jennyss
Thanks @Shamus O'Sean and @Popo the Degenerate, It has been interesting to look and learn as you have slogged your way through your beer advent calendars. What a variety of beers and way out artwork on the cans! My favourite can was the Okinawa Splice.
Shamus O'Sean
Beer Cartel - 22nd December - Banks Brewing - Bear County - American Stout Rum & raisin with Chocolate and Roast aroma. Similar flavour and very smooth. Lower bitterness Very smashable more like a robust Brown Ale than a Stout Great beer 8.5/10
Shamus O'Sean
Beer Cartel - 23rd December - Pirate Life - West Coast IPA Plenty of citrus and pine aromas. Strong malty flavour and danky hop taste. Moderate to high bitterness. The colour and clarity belie the robustness of this beer. 8/10
