What Are You Drinking in 2022?

After yesterdays little adjustment I have poured an acceptable beer from the tap, 8 days in the keg, I had it on 10psi for 7 days & 24 hours ago whacked it up to 25psi. I have just turned it back to serving pressure & now I can have a few beers 😋 This is a Real Ale, fairly basic but very drinkable.

Cheers

Phil

How many of you guys have the springs fitted in the Nuka Taps ? I reckon they are awesome, even with the bigger tap handles that I have fitted it makes pouring a breeze.

By springs do you mean tap return springs Phil?

Cheers mate, I believe that it will, at first it was all a bit daunting as the move to AG was but with the right help & support from a bunch of decent blokes it all came together. I am so glad I took the steps ( & spent the money ) as I can see daylight from now on.

Yes I did. I didn't explain myself very good did I 😲

I have them in my taps, great addition. One thing though you have to clean your taps out every now and again as the springs and taps get gummed up over time and the taps stick.

Yes I have seen that on You Tube but early days ATM as I am only pouring out of one keg - soon 2 then I will buy 2 more kegs, by then I will be an expert, Ha Ha.

Pale Ale with Wheat Malt Extract and Galaxy Hops.

Four and a Half weeks in the bottle and it's a treat.

One of my best Pale's

Sadly, I'm saving most of this batch for my Son's visit in mid July (he won't get many)!

The Rice Lager is now nicely lagered and is very nice. It smells good, is crystal clear and is very tasty.

Me too 🙂

Not too much left of it in the keg but it is on my revised brew schedule.

Any chance of a recipe fella? I'm about to brew a Pilsner on my days off and up in the air with what to do with it. I'd love a good rice lager on tap.

Looks great Shamus. I did a similar beer to that with super pride and PoR.
Im curious about your use of acidulated malt. Is that for flavor, color or a pH thing?

I haven’t got into any pH stuff yet, just use the tap water as it comes. ..

Good way to lower PH without using chemicals. I use it in all my brews except for a stout.

As Pale Man says, Tone, I use it for pH adjustment.  Brewfather's water calculator seems to get the pH right when using Acidulated Malt to adjust pH.  However, I sometimes use Lactic Acid.  If I use the amount that Brewfather tells me to use, my mash pH drops lower than the calculation.

Does it make a difference to get your pH between 5.2 and 5.5?  Supposedly so.  My beers taste fine, but I have never done a side by side of a Acidulated treated batch and a non-treated batch.
