Summer garden on a go slow.

All a bit late this summer - especially the tomaties........Almost all of this vege and fruit was propagated from store purchased cuttings. SWMBO has a green thumb me thinks

Looks really great, I don't have the area that you have but I have a few things happening around the place in pots, Carolina Reaper chili, Tabasco Chili, Thyme, Parsley.

Rosemary in the garden & Mint in a separate pot as it attracts insects that attack other plants.

If I got more sun out on the front verandah, I would fill it with more pots.

It's not worth me growing tomatoes & lettuce etc as apart from no room I am surrounded by fruit & veg/supermarkets that sell it cheaper than I could grow.

I may try some celery after looking at yours.

Don't be fooled Phil, I live in a unit just large enough to swing a cat in (sorry cat lovers) The back yard is tiny mate.....the camera lies.

Yeah, do try some celery, it doesn't get to the amazon size we see in the green grocers but it's full of flavour.

Your garden looks great mate, especially some of those beautiful looking chilli's.

Very nice crop there @Mickep.

SWMBO has a nice crop of lemongrass happening here, as well as other assorted things. In fact we have an overabundance of chillis at present, so some drying and freezing of those going on.

Looks awesome KM @kmar92, love your lemon grass mate. And what a crop of the fiery little suckers.

Coles sell a stick of lemon grass for about 5-6 dollars. The bride would use at least half a stick a day. Good thing it's growing the backyard.  😂

Now just gotta plant a lime tree - those suckers in Victoria are at a ridiculous price and SWMBO goes through a couple a day. 😬

Ya got the Real Estate filter on your camera there @Mickep, you know the shots they use were a 2.5 x 2.5 m bedroom looks like a whole penthouse floor ha ha.

Now with celery it has to be grown quick, lots of food and water and sunshine.  They are a bit like bananas,  very hungry and you have to feed them as often as you are watering them.  I grew some good crops of celery several years back, feed them Thrive every second day and watered well only we had to go away at the wrong time and the big crop dried out and got all stringy.  Such a waste.

How are your bananas going @Malter White ?  Multiplied up and jacked that fence of yours over yet?

Problem with lime trees here in Melbourne are the bloody gall wasps, they will destroy a young tree in months and there is no real cure once they find the tree.  They killed my lime tree and then when it was done they moved onto my lemon tree and killed that so no home made ginger beer for a couple of years now.  I would like to get another one of each but just a bit gun shy ATM.

Chili Pepper Scoville Scale | scovillescale.org

Carolina Reaper

Carolina Reaper the hottest chili in the world

With an average of 1,569,300 SHU on the Scoville scale and peak levels of over 2,200,000 SHU, the Carolina Reaper is the hottest pepper in the world awarded in the 2013 Guinness World Records.

Yes, they were & then their position was replaced by another & now they are officialy the hottest.

I find if you are careful & only use small amounts, they are fine.

Don't wipe your eyes though 🥵
