Hairy
I had records and cassettes when younger but my first CD was Soul Deep by Jimmy Barnes.
Instigator
I don't remember my first CD for sure but it was probably AC/DC Dirty Deeds. I'm pretty sure my first LP was something from KISS. Probably Hotter Than Hell, but might have been Dressed To Kill. My older brother had all the AC/DC, Alice Cooper, Dead Kennedys, Talking Heads etc albums, so I didn't need to buy them myself. Lab Cat
Too long ago to remember, but Peter Gabriel's So was probably a contender. I remember my first LP. Hawkind Roadhawks, followed by the entire AC/DC Bon Scott catalogue.

Malter White
@Stickers I joined one of those CD clubs too. It was a great way to build a music library at a lower price.

They were running school holiday promotions and I won a choice between an ABBA t-shirt or an Elton John t-shirt. I chose the Elton t-shirt because I thought it would be a bit sissy to wear an ABBA one.

Malter White
@Hairy I didn't have the album but I do remember the cover had a helicopter on it.
Naughty Corner Brewing
I bought my first album in about 1974 (I was 5 or 6) which was one of the compilation ones that had Suzi Quattro on it, probably Devil Gate Drive. Remember doing heaps of jobs to save up for that. First CD was probably Meat Loaf Bat out of Hell.
Marvin
My first simultaneous purchases were vinyl, Rolling Stones Some Girls and Joe Walsh But Seriously Folks. I don't listen to Joe much these days. I'd probably rate Some Girls the last great Stones album. I bought quite a lot of records but would tape someone else's where I could. ben 10
I don't recall the cd but I will admit to the shame of buying Walk Like an Egyptian by the Bangles on 12" when it came out. 1
xjjohnn0
First cd was one of those 12" black ones that don't fit my cd player. It was either Jimi Hendrix Band of Gypsies or Small Faces Ogden's Nutgone Tobacco.
