Hey Coopers, is there a list of target temperatures for your cans?

I'm looking for the bitterness level of the extract (brew) cans prior to adding additional hops etc yes it says stir and around 21c etc for draught add be 1 2 3 etc  extract ,and wait for 7 days etc id just like a general round about bitter level bu for a straight out extract recipe as per instructed am I missing this inside the label does it exist .??

I am not sure if you have found the FAQ's page yet.

https://www.diybeer.com/au/faqs/#FAQ_4_11

Basically:

Brew Bitterness before fermentation = Product bitterness x 1.7 / Brew volume

You get Product bitterness from here: https://www.diybeer.com/au/brewing-extracts.html

Click on the extract can you are interested in and the bitterness IBU and colour EBC are halfway down the page.  These are "in the can" values, in the extract form.  That is why they are so high.

As an example, if a brew is made with Mexican Cerveza up to a volume of 23 litres: 325 x 1.7 / 23 = 24 IBU (International Bitterness Units)

This figure represents the brew bitterness prior to fermentation. Generally, fermentation reduces bitterness by between 10% to 30%. So final bitterness of the fermented brew may be anything from 14 to 18 IBU.  Most brews have their IBU's quoted pre-fermentation anyway, because of the variability that fermentation throws up.

I used to have some of those but ended up chucking them.

Yep I remember them to Phil - the plastic lid used back then was ideal because it would just push on, pull off - so  they were great to reuse the can because you had a reusable lid 👏

Interesting to see the price ~$7.00 😉

Yeah, I should have kept a few for my beer museum 🤣

A little bit of trivia ...

Coopers was located at Leabrook in the eastern suburbs of Adelaide from 1881 until 2001 when it moved to its current and expanded site at Regency Park.

A little different looking these days.

It certainly does look a little different these days Phil. The first shot is looking across where the golf course used to be. The second is our new Reception entrance, the third is looking at where the Pavilion used to be and the fourth one is a shot of the footbridge that you'll walk through to get from the Visitor's Centre to the brewery.

Thanks for the happy snaps Frank - very cool 😎

PS oh, please have a word with the forklift operator who placed a pallet halfway in the demarcated walkway (sorry some old occupation habits are just impossible to break) 🤦‍♂️😂🤣😂
