Ocean's of Ale-
*Caution, sarcasm used in following post* Come now Kelsey that " olinda lager beer " & its recipe would have made a fine, fine brew. I & trying to imagine the look on the Ivan Mallatt look alike when he first tastes it-

I am not sure if you have found the FAQ's page yet. https://www.diybeer.com/au/faqs/#FAQ_4_11 Basically: Brew Bitterness before fermentation = Product bitterness x 1.7 / Brew volume You get Product bitterness from here: https://www.diybeer.com/au/brewing-extracts.html Click on the extract can you are interested in and the bitterness IBU and colour EBC are halfway down the page. These are "in the can" values, in the extract form. That is why they are so high. As an example, if a brew is made with Mexican Cerveza up to a volume of 23 litres: 325 x 1.7 / 23 = 24 IBU (International Bitterness Units) This figure represents the brew bitterness prior to fermentation. Generally, fermentation reduces bitterness by between 10% to 30%. So final bitterness of the fermented brew may be anything from 14 to 18 IBU. Most brews have their IBU's quoted pre-fermentation anyway, because of the variability that fermentation throws up. 1

Yep I remember them to Phil - the plastic lid used back then was ideal because it would just push on, pull off - so they were great to reuse the can because you had a reusable lid Interesting to see the price ~$7.00

Coopers was located at Leabrook in the eastern suburbs of Adelaide from 1881 until 2001 when it moved to its current and expanded site at Regency Park. A little different looking these days. 6

It certainly does look a little different these days Phil. The first shot is looking across where the golf course used to be. The second is our new Reception entrance, the third is looking at where the Pavilion used to be and the fourth one is a shot of the footbridge that you'll walk through to get from the Visitor's Centre to the brewery.
