The Termite
I was looking on the internet, when I came across these carbonating lids for Cornelius kegs, do they work, are they a good idea?
Otto Von Blotto
I'm sure they work fine but I've never used them as I have no need with a 6.8kg gas cylinder at my disposal.
The Termite
6.8 kg gas cylinder in the next thing on my shopping list, not easy to get in the middle of Australia.

Don't you still need the gas cylinder? These are just a keg lid with a diffusion stone attached.
The Termite
I have a cylinder from BOC, I want to buy my own and stop paying the rent. I just thought the carbonating lid sounds like a good idea.

Mine cost $128 delivered from beerbelly - what's the freight to Childers? Wait... You have a BOC one - they sell cylinders so you could just buy from them, right? Otto Von Blotto
Depends on the size too. My 6.8kg one was $250 at the time I first got one. $55-60 to swap for a full one when it runs out.
kmar92
I just bought a 6kg from Kegland, full $98 + delivery.

kmar92
The CO2 cylinder was part of a larger order so I do not know what would be charged for just the cylinder for delivery. As they are now out of stock their website is not indicating delivery costs. My order was for a full kegerator set up with kegerator, 2 x 19l kegs, fonts and taps plus associated plumbing equipment and the delivery all up was $85 for the lot. The Termite
That is a great freight bill.
