classiceuropa
Wow just tried the Mexican Cerveza after three weeks in bottles and yummooo. Thought the first brew of pale ale really nice and even it has matured further after more weeks in bottles. Now question about cleaning pet bottles , Ive seen some vids with guys using a brush to clean them out. My empties all Ive been doing is rinsing out with hot water straight after use then using a morgans low suds cleaner, shaking vigorously and then leaving to dry. Is this sufficient if I just use a sanitiser before rebottling again , I have little sediment in my last two brews Ive bottled. Thanks again. I just rinse the bottles after use and on bottling day, I soak them in sodium percarbonate for a couple of hours, rinse and drip dry and just before bottling rinse them with starsan.
Disco Stu
Though hot water is not recommended for PET bottles.

classiceuropa
Can I just ask another question is it ok to refresh your sanitiser spray bottle by adding some more sanitiser to your bottle when its been sitting around half full a few weeks or should the left over be tipped out and always use fresh. Cheers.

Cheers. Much easier to make a new batch with recommended water to sanitizer ratios. However i have done on occasion. My advice, get a second spray bottle and mix new solution when your at 1/3 left in the other bottle.
Titan
You could actually mix up a bulk 5l worth at the correct ratio to top off your spray bottles.

Cheers. I just top mine up using the recommended concentration - my spray bottle is 2L so I do it at 1/2 or 1/3 full. Stellarsan is 3ml per 2L so it makes it easy with my 3ml syringe. The sanitizer doesn't really degrade until the acid content drops so what I don't do is add used sanitizer back into the bottle. I've seen quite a few recommends to re-use it but I only do that within a session. i.e. use the sanitiser from the FV to also clean the secondary FV and maybe drip bucket, tools used etc. But then it goes down the drain.

I simply rinse them out with hot tap water after use. Then give them an overnight soak in a Napisan type soaker and drip dry on racks in the sun (if there's sun around) just before bottling day. One of the more science educated contributors on here suggested bacteria won't grow on a clean bottle so sanitising isn't really necessary. Sanitising definitely won't hurt, so if you want to sanitise go ahead and sanitise but I haven't had any issues without sanitising them.
Otto Von Blotto
I hope you're rinsing them after the soak... that white residue it leaves behind isn't very appealing
