Pumpkin Beer

Anyone brewed a pumpkin beer? We will have some fresh home grown pumpkin (too much to eat) so I'm looking at brewing one.

After doing a bit of research Im looking at something as follows:

MO 52%

Munich 7%

Special B 5%

 Pumpkin 35% (mashed after cooking in then oven for 60mins) 

Hops will be simcoe - 60mins bittering and then some of our home grown hops at FO.

Other adjuncts will be ginger, cinnamon and cloves. Just need to determine how much of each.

Also looking at a pumpkin beer cheesecake as well.

I think @Hairy may have done one if my memory serves me correctly??? And if it was him tasted more spice than pumpkin clove etc

Yep, I made one a long time ago. As RDT2 said it was the spices that created the pumpkin pie flavour and not the pumpkin itself.

Still deciding on this one. We have some great home grown pumpkins but maybe better to use for soups etc with the COVID. Cant beat homegrown veggies.

So the Pumpkin beer is back on the cards. Will do a small batch and then use the beer to make a pumpkin cheese cake.
