James Lao
Hi all, Just kegged a stout last night, the FG was 1.016 over 2 days before CCing. Ingredients were: Coopers Irish Stout, Coopers amber malt can, 500g LDME, 250g wheat DME, 250g of Choc malt and 250g of sugar. 1.5 litre starter of Nottingham. Does anyone know if the stout and amber cans have more un-fermentables in them? First time doing a stout in ages but always expect Notty to get to 1.012 easily. Does 1.016 seem too high? I did put some cacao nibs in a bourbon tincture in the FV on the day of the first 1.016 SG/FG sample day.. Cheers James
Hairy
Both the stout kit and amber LME contains more specialty malts and would be less fermentable than plain LME.
James Lao
Thanks Hairy. Probably over thinking things again, but it’s always good to get good information for reassurance. Cheers James
