Journeyman
I asked elsewhere about calico but while looking around I noticed many grain bags advertised, and not just on ebay, that are nylon or poly products. I tend to shy away from such materials where heat is involved although I note that there are a number of brewers onsite that pour almost-boiling wort into plastic containers so maybe it's just my bias on this. Are the artificial materials OK to use? Do they need replacing regularly? (a sign that they are 'contributing' some of their constituents to the processes) Is my inner Luddite showing? Look how long it took for BPA to become a thing.
