Might be a bit of an optical illusion combined with a small batch. Only 3kg of grain. Grain is definitely there, underneath the perforated top plate. The other half of the fermentables was a 1.5kg tin of Liquid Wheat Malt. 1

That rest isn't a mash out but yeah it is done with the grains still in. Not much use if they're removed.
Pale Man
Getting stuck into this tomorrow arvo, last nightshift tonight and after a kip it's on. First mini mash in years and I think only my second or third ever. Coopers Lager can. 2 kilos of German Pilsner. 1/2 kilo of dry wheat malt. 25 grams of Hallerteu. 25 grams of Hersbrucker. Saglager s-189. I've got 15 litres of spring water in the fridge to bring wort temperature down. I think I've got everything covered. See yas on the other side.

Original recipe is from Gash (Home Brew Network), although I have changed out the hops. My results have been mixed mainly die to brewing in the summer, shouldn't have any temp issues. When you nail this one it is a ripper. Be interesting to see what the honey adds. Edited July 10, 2020 by ozlizard

Just got her boiling. Maybe I should have more hops but this is meant to be a German lager of sorts.

Ive been unable to find any locally for some time and have had to go online from eastern states for this. I got some from lager land the other day but they don't have much either. Yeah I thought I wouldn't be able to get any and was going to order from Brewmart as their website showed that they had some available, although you can't trust that info! In the end, as we were going to Bunbury, I got all the stuff form Big Gals Brew Shed and to my surprise they had Citra!
