King Ruddager
Not sure what else it does exactly, but SWMBO seems to use it a fair bit. Anyway, I’ve started putting my grain and hop bags through on a “rinse and spin” cycle to good effect (after running it through a preliminary cycle while empty to make sure there’s no detergent or anything). Works well! If I start to burp up soapy bubbles though I’ll update this thread. 2
PaddyBrew2
I always give mine a quick thirty minute wash on their own after brewing with some napisan. Works a treat aside from the lecture of wasting energy and carbon footprints from herself
Otto Von Blotto
I just rinse mine in water. Every few batches the hop spider gets an overnight perc soak. I'll soak the grain bag if there's some hard to remove grains left on it. Did the machine thing a couple of times but it made the bag all warped. King Ruddager
No matter how many times I hand-rinse I can never get the last few grains and bits of hop matter out. The washing machine takes care of it just fine
RDT2
I put mine on the clothes line and spray it with the hose gets all the grains out in no time
Otto Von Blotto
I guess my hop bag/spider lends itself to getting crap out easily. I just rub opposite sides of it together under warm-hot water and it comes off easily. As for a few grain bits, I don't really care enough to get every one of them off the bag. I find a brush gets them off pretty good when it dries too.
The Captain!!
Turn it over the bucket in a bucket till it’s tight, rinse with the hose, slowly pulling up, never had grains stuck to it afterwards

Beer Baron
I asked the missus about the thing you call a washing machine and she told me it was in the laundry......................What the hell is a laundry??? 1

There's useful taps and a drained wet area floor in case of mishap. There can be demarcation disputes, the washing machine makes a useful table. 1
