worry wort
Can Morgans English Ale Yeast be used in lieu of Lallemand Nottingham? I find Notty, in fact any Lallemand product, hard to get locally and LHBS advised that either Morgans English Ale or at a pinch Safale us05 would be likely subs. M42 seems to perform identically to Nottingham in my experience, and in fact some say it's the same strain.
Beerlust
Hi Worry Wort. http://morgansbrewing.com.au/products/morgans-premium-yeasts/ I'd suggest the "Morgan’s Premium Ale Yeast" would be closer to Nottingham, than the "Morgan's English Ale Yeast" given the descriptions. The Morgan's English Ale Yeast strain sounds more like Fermentis S-04 that tends to leave more body in the final beer. A trait not typically linked with Nottingham. I hope that helps. Lusty. Lab Cat
My LHBS rarely has Notts either. I've usually gone with US05 or 4 instead.
