worry wort
Is there any way of testing the abv of a brew after its been in the bottle for a couple of weeks? would pouring some into the hydro tube and dropping the hydro in it give an accurate reading to work out the abv? Otto Von Blotto
No. You'd need special equipment to accurately measure it, but it can be reasonably accurately worked out from the OG-FG and adding 0.4% to that figure.
worry wort
just to check, it OG-FG and then divided by 7.46 to get the abv, plus .04%?
Hairy
You can still get a specific gravity reading from the beer but you will need to make sure it isn’t carbonated when doing the reading. Leave it to go flat first.
Otto Von Blotto
Yes but it wouldn't really be any different to what it was before the priming sugar was added and fermented out. WW I usually use OG - FG X 0.13 + 0.4.
