Just following up on this. Don't try this at home. Really lacked flavour. Our jerky tastes just like dried up beef or in other words McDonalds. 😂

I figured the Vegemite would have had enough. The marinate tasted very strong but it didn't seem to transfer to the beef. Luckily the dehydrator only fit half the beef in, so I've added some salt to the second half and will dry again tonight.
I just remembered something. The last couple of times I made jerky I used corned beef and didn't need to add salt. Maybe that's part of the reason I didn't add it this time....oldtimers disease.
