Hairy
Most standard gravity beer fermentation would be over in a week. What temperature did you ferment it at?
Beerlust
If your specific gravity readings are stable over 2-3 days then it is considered safe to bottle. What is your current specific gravity? Best of luck with the brew, Lusty.
Marty_G
sure can if the temp is too high the fermentation reaction between the yeasts and sugars will go gang busters .... will also have some funky flavours as well ...
Otto Von Blotto
It's actually pretty normal and expected that a standard brew would ferment out in a week or less. If it takes substantially longer then there's an issue. Mine are usually done in 5 or 6 days. Temperature doesn't have to be high for this to happen, it's just a sign of healthy yeast and a nutritious wort, which is exactly what you want. The brew I have in the fermenter currently was probably 80% done after 3 days at 20 degrees. Probably finished a day or two later but I've been slack taking more readings to confirm it. No funky flavours in the sample I took after 3 days.
